5 Unique Wedding Venues near Austin Texas

Austin Texas is known for its beautiful landscape and weather. The state has become a popular destination for weddings since many of the large cities are home to unique locations. Not to mention Texas' history - especially in the south where it's also common to have multiple plantation-style wedding venues. While the state has many beautiful locations, these five venues in no particular order, are some of the most unique in Austin.

Antebellum Oaks Venue

This venue is a must-see if you're looking for that southern charm. The property has been around since the 1850s and was also home to some of Austin's earliest settlers. Today it's an event center where many couples have chosen to hold their wedding. The property itself is beautiful, but it's also very spacious and has an excellent layout plan for a wedding.

You'll feel the warmth that emanates from the property throughout the oak tree. Their event facility becomes the garden of your dreams when adapted to The Towering Oaks section of the property. They enjoy letting the native soft shrubs and flowers add to the lovely atmosphere beneath our magnificent oak trees.

Hummingbird House is the ideal Garden Venue. A true haven of lush greenery, spectacular blooms, and magnificent palms. Stroll our garden paths and celebrate with friends and family alike in this remarkable space, situated on the edge of St. Edward's Park.

Located on 5 1/2 gorgeous tropical acres, with stunning garden lighting. The award-winning garden in central Texas is a unique venue unlike anything else in the state. It's been compared to The Garden of Eden and can be described as a natural oasis.

Chateau Bellevue

The chateau is an authentic European-style castle located in Central Texas. Surrounded by over 50 acres of lush, landscaped grounds, the chateau offers an intimate destination for weddings or special events in Austin. Guests enter through the Great Hall's towering oak beams and a stone fireplace to discover the lavish grandeur of a European-style banquet hall. Stately, magnificent crystal chandeliers represent the best of old-world elegance and romance.

The historic home has been beautifully restored with original granite, limestone, and marble floors crafted from native Texas pink stone seen throughout the grand foyer and around the entire property. The chateau offers quick access to Austin's many attractions and business centers, including the Round Rock Premium Outlet Mall. This lovely wedding venue is a convenient drive from all major airports, yet it feels as if you have been magically transported somewhere far away from home.

The Vineyards at Chappel Lodge

The state has recognized the property as a very rare and unusual example of a landscape that appears much as it did when it was first settled. The oldest structure on the property is Stonewall Lodge, built in 1918. Stonewall Lodge now serves as a guesthouse for those who stay at the Vineyards.

Chappel Lodge is the oldest house on the property, dating from the 1850s. It was used as a working cattle ranch for almost 100 years before being acquired in 1990 and converted into a wedding facility while still retaining its rustic atmosphere. The Vineyards at Chappel Lodge also includes two other venues: Stonewall Ranch and Stonewall Farm.

These are the oldest working vineyards in Texas. The first vines were planted by Gustave Lorentzen, who was a Swiss immigrant, and he believed that his grapes would do better with the warmer Texas climate. Today Chappel Lodge has won over 40 awards for its wine, including gold medals at the Tastings Wine Competition in Napa Valley, and is even featured in a cookbook.

The Caswell House

Built in 1855 by Captain Richard Caswell and his wife Sara Cole Caswell, the Caswell house is a classic example of an early Texas home. The Austin Junior Forum, a women's volunteer group, is responsible for the property. All income from the rental goes back into the community through grants and other charitable endeavors. This magnificent home has been designated as a Texas Historic Landmark, is on the National Register of Historic Places, and is listed in the City of Austin's Historic Landmarks program.

The bride's room is on the second floor, where she and her party may change clothes and prepare for the ceremony and reception. A private restroom is provided for the bride's convenience.

The second-floor main room may be used as a wedding ceremony site, a pleasant banquet hall, and a cozy dance floor. The fireplace on the wall creates this enormous area appear warm and inviting. The Steinway piano adds elegance to the setting while also providing an opportunity for live music.
